In the course of the month of September, some activities in sports, visits, sponsorship, and tours took place within and outside Kinyara Sugar Limited (KSL).
President Museveni and first Lady Commend Kinyara Sugar Limited’s value addition
Kinyara Sugar
Limited was recognized for adding value to brown and light brown sugar and
being Uganda's largest producer of white sugar.
This occurred at
a mini-exhibition conducted in September 2023 at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala,
Uganda, as part of the 79th birthday celebrations.
Kinyara Sugar
Limited took part by displaying its sugar products, and President Yoweri
Museveni Kaguta Tibuhaburwa, who also served as Chief Celebrant, toured the
exhibition stall.

A recent study conducted by
Makerere University’s Economic Policy Research Centre
has revealed that the Bunyoro
sub-region has become the leading sugarcane producer.
Thanks to Kinyara Sugar Limited
and its agriculture extension services and agronomy innovations in the region
that benefit growers
The study, which considered
various factors, indicates that Bunyoro boasts the highest cane yield,
in tons per acre. This figure is nearly double the
yields seen in Busoga, which averages 24 metric tons, and Buganda, which averages
27 metric tons.
Bunyoro sub region is also more food and incomes secure according to the media reports.
Aldon Walukamba, the Kinyara corporate communications officer, mentioned that they have invested in a three-tier nursery program to ensure a clean seed mechanism that improves cane yield. He added,
“Agricultural inputs like bio products (fertilizers and pesticides), pest control agents, chemical fertilizers, and herbicides are issued on a loan basis to the out grower farmers.”
Buruuli County MP visits Kinyara Agronomy Centre
Hon. Alex Ronald Akugizibwe paid Kinyara Sugar Limited a
courtesy visit in September 2023.
He praises management for hiring individuals from his district, supporting better agricultural practices and food security, and developing innovative agronomic technologies to combat crop pests and diseases.
"I am pleased with Kinyara Sugar's community services in employment, agriculture, food security, roads, education, and health in Buruuli County and Bunyoro Region." "We will stand by Kinyara Sugar Limited and its management," declared Hon. Akugizibwe.

Agronomist, welcomed the Buruuli County MP and informed him about the recent
advances in Kinyara Sugar Agriculture and Agronomy.

Kinyara Sugar Limited meets Liaisons Group management over 2023 Golf Open
Officials from Kinyara Sugar
Limited met with the Liaison Group ahead of the 25th Kinyara Open Golf
Tournament in 2023.
The Liaison Group has announced
its sponsorship of the 25th Kinyara Open Golf Tournament, which will be held at
Kinyara Golf Club on November 24th and 25th, 2023.

Kinyara
Secondary School stood out in Arua's National Secondary schools traditional
folk music presentation, receiving an impressive 83 percent.
"It was our first time," said Yasin Assimwe, head teacher at Kinyara Secondary School, "but we tried our best and got a distinction in the traditional folk song."

Apollo Onzoma, a principal labor officer from the Ministry
of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, paid a courtesy call to Kinyara
Sugar Limited's Human Resources Manager Moses Basoga Kabira.
He praised management's efforts to improve employees and
provide better working conditions at Kinyara Sugar Limited.

20 Kinyara Sugar Limited staff
attended a program targeted towards the well-being of employees.
Basically, it was a collection of
initiatives that Kinyara Sugar Limited took to encourage health, fitness, and
other healthy habits amongst employees. These include fitness classes,
nutrition sessions, mental health consultations, and more.
Several trainees expressed
satisfaction with Kinyara Sugar Limited management for extending such training
to them.
"Generally, I learned a lot about how to feed on healthy diets, conduct myself in regards to exercising, and train others,” Naibuka Alice said.

Development Manager, says the training was a plus for management and the staff
who attended.
"The trainers can now embrace others and train them to improve their wellness, which will result in better work," said Ogwok.
Aldon Walukamba, Corporate Communications Manager at Kinyara
Sugar Limited, led a team to the Uganda Golf Club (UGC).
"We met the Uganda Golf Club administration in order to share updates on the golf course but also detail our views and ideas with them," Walukamba stated.
UGC General Manager David Gidudu praised Kinyara Sugar
Limited's efforts to support and promote golf in Uganda while collaborating
with other entities.
In a joyous mood, Moses Eriku Enzama, our new skipper, was
introduced to the golf club's administration. Kinyara Golf Club was also
granted authorization to plan tournaments and submit them to the Uganda Golf
Club for approval and scheduling the following year.
