Supports as Masindi celebrates women’s day 2024.
On April 13, 2024, hundreds of
people gathered at Kabango Church football ground as Masindi District Local
Government joined the rest of the world to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The function was presided over by
Hon. Betty Amongi Akena, Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development
(MGLSD), and graced by Kinyara Sugar Limited General Manager Ravi Ramalingam,
different stakeholders including high political leaders of the district like
the District Chairperson and members of his council, security led by Emmy
Ngabirano, the RDC, and district and sub-county technical staff.
The theme was "Accelerating
Gender Equality through Women's Economic Empowerment,” which presented a
reflection on the efforts and progress made towards achieving Sustainable
Development Goal (SDG) 5 on Gender Equality within the context of economic
empowerment.
Hon. Betty Amongi Akena urged
parents to promote girl child education and called upon young girls to pursue
courses that are traditionally associated with men, like engineering, among
others.
In her message to women, while
praising Kinyara Sugar Limited for its efforts to promote gender equity and
empowerment, she emphasized the need for women to embrace the use of ICT for
social-economic transformation. She encouraged women to utilize digital
platforms to conduct online businesses and to access information for economic
transformation.
“We thank Kinyara Sugar Limited for the support rendered and championing by example in issues regarding women's empowerment in the agriculture and processing sectors. Women should embrace the use of modern technologies in order to capture low-hanging opportunities at organizations like Kinyara Sugar Limited,” Hon. Betty Amongi Akena.

Inaugural Kinyara Sugar Music, Dance and Drama Festival thrill community
The competitions were themed "The challenges of sugarcane poaching, stealing, and eating amidst Kinyara Sugar Limited's support for the community."
Kinyara Sugar Limited General Manager Ravi Ramalingam, said that, “We shall achieve our aims of producing sugar and green energy while employing the masses and bringing about positive change in the areas around us by working together.”

Kinyara Sugar GM yields praise from Masindi District Leadership
At the inaugural Kinyara Sugar
Limited Music Inter-Schools Dance and Drama event, Masindi RDC Emmy Ngabirano
took the stage to commend General Manager Ravi Ramalingam for his unwavering
support to the community. He highlighted his contributions to various social
services and infrastructure projects, emphasizing the positive impact they had
on the area. Amidst cheers from the crowd, CAO Sanyu Phionah echoed Ngabirano's
sentiments, expressing gratitude for Ramalingam's consistent support to the
district's activities.
Ramalingam, humbled by the
recognition, reiterated his commitment to continue collaborating with the
community to foster growth and development. As the event unfolded with vibrant
performances and enthusiastic participation from schools across the district,
the spirit of unity and cooperation embodied the essence of community
partnership, paving the way for a brighter future for all involved.

Recognition at Kinyara Sugar Limited's Inaugural Inter-Schools
Competition
At the first-ever Kinyara Sugar
Limited Music, Dance, and Drama Inter-Schools Competition 2024, Amanyire Flavia
and Kasaija Gilbert, Secretary to GM and Robert Munyo, were honored for their hard
work.
General Manager Ravi Ramalingam
presented certificates to them, along with a media personality, three
adjudicators, and the headmistress of Kinyara Sugar Limited Nursery School. The
event showcased talent from various schools, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of
creativity and camaraderie. The recognition underscored Kinyara Sugar Limited's
commitment to nurturing talent and celebrating excellence in the community.
Easter gifts in Kitara FC visit
Kinyara Sugar Limited management visited Kitara FC players
and management during the week to spread Easter cheer to the staff and players
of Kitara FC.
The hard-working players and staff at Kitara FC were also
yet again provided with words of encouragement and sugar courtesy of Kinyara
Sugar Limited Communications Manager, Aldon Walukamba.
“The Club would like to thank the Kinyara Sugar Limited
management and the Supporters Association for all their help, particularly
Communications Manager Aldon Walukamba and Roy Patrick Katushabe, Kinyara Sugar
Limited's Community Supervisor, who helped organize the events," said
Timothy Kato, Deputy CEO of Kitara FC.

Masindi District Leader Receives Iron Sheets from Kinyara Sugar Limited
On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, led by Mr. William Mwambu, the
Masindi district Councillor representing people with disabilities (PWDs),
Kinyara Sugar Limited staff paid a home visit to the Councillors construction
site and donated 80 iron sheets and roofing nails totaling three million Uganda Shillings (UGX 3
million). The staff interacted with the caretakers of the home and the
children.
Mr. William Mwambu had earlier requested Kinyara Sugar
Limited’s General Manager Ravi Ramalingam to help him with iron sheets for
roofing his house in Kigezi village, Masindi district.
“We appreciate Kinyara Sugar Limited’s management for its
sympathetic acts and for loving vulnerable people in the communities while
helping us,” Mr. William Mwambu said while receiving the iron sheets from
Kinyara Sugar Limited.
Kinyara Sugar Limited through the Corporate Social Responsibility is happy to support vulnerable and marginalized communities and contribute to the well-being of the people within our sugarcane out grower areas.

Kinyara Sugar Limited Supports Inter-Deaf Football Tournament in Masindi
In a heartwarming gesture of
support, Kinyara Sugar Limited stepped up to bolster the upcoming Inter-Deaf
Football Tournament slated to kick off in Masindi from May 22nd to May 26th,
2024. Walukamba Aldon, the Corporate Communications Manager of Kinyara Sugar
Limited, took the initiative to deliver essential supplies to aid the
tournament's success.
Aldon, representing Kinyara Sugar
Limited, presented a generous donation consisting of water, footballs, and caps
to Isabirye Augustine, the recipient at the Masindi Municipal Council office.
The gesture aimed to ensure that the participating teams have the necessary
resources and equipment to compete effectively and enjoy the tournament
experience to the fullest.
The delivery not only signifies
Kinyara Sugar Limited's commitment to community engagement but also reflects
their dedication to promoting inclusivity and supporting initiatives that
foster unity and empowerment among differently-abled individuals.
Speaking on behalf of Kinyara

Kinyara Sugar Limited’s Andrew Oketi Shines at the Lira Invitational Tournament 2024
Andrew Oketi (4) made one of the finest golf plays you didn’t
see, but it was only enough to stave off profound disappointment for other
players at the 2024 Lira Invitational Golf encounter.
And when all was finished, the Kinyara Golf Team was on the
right end of one of their better performances at the tournament, while Teams
Lira, Mbarara, Namulonge, Mbale, Arua, and Uganda Golf Clubs were left amazed.
Andrew Oketi (4), perhaps the Lira Invitational Golf
Tournament’s best ever player, tortured his golfing counterparts with the best
game of his recent adult life. Playing a total of 72 overs to earn the overall
best player award this year.
The Kinyara Golf Club team members were flying across the
Lango region back to Masindi on Sunday, April 7, 2024, not only with four
medals of any kind from the 2024 Lira Invitational Golf tournament but also
with pleasure after conquering groups A and B and also clinching the Longest
Drive award at the tournament.
Christopher Basaliza (5) became the second runner-up in
group A with a 75 net for Kinyara Golf Club to clinch a one-three for group A.
The group’s top 10 finishers also had seasoned golfer Simon
Onadra (8) in the fifth position in Group A with a net of 74 strokes. Simon
Ojobile (8) is in the sixth position in Group A with a net of 76 strokes.
Enock Mukiibi (11) played 68 net on his maiden visit to Lira
Golf Club in life to become the second runner-up in Group B. Among the top 10
finishers in group B included Moses Eriku Enzama (15) with 85 net strokes in
