In the course of the month of October, some activities in sports, visits, sponsorship, and tours took place within and outside Kinyara Sugar Limited (KSL).
Kinyara Sugar Limited starts crop 29
The management of Kinyara Sugar limited started crop 29 on
October 28, 2023 at the power plant.
The ceremony attended by the top management led by Mr Ramanujam Subburayalu, Kinyara Sugar Limited Factory manager, was witnessed by Kinyara
Sugar Limited Unionized staff, factory officials and other departments and section
heads.
Crop 29 was flagged off by lighting boiler number 4 (four), before that speeches summarized under,
“Safety, time management, team work and God” were pronounced by speakers of the day.

In a follow up event, the CROP-29 milling operation was
started on 1st November 2023 at between 9.15 am to 10.15 am.
Sugarcane poaching, theft, and burning were all condemned in
remarks given by various individuals, and all Kinyara Sugar Limited employees
were exhorted to take the lead in preserving and protecting sugarcane.
All staffs were invited to participate in the ceremony held
at Kinyara Sugar Limited cane yard.
Federation of Uganda
Employers re-visit Kinyara Sugar Limited
The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) alongside Stanbic Bank
and Liberty Insurance Company visited Kinyara Sugar Limited.
The team hosted at Kinyara Training Centre met a team of
Kinyara Sugar Limited staffs, sugarcane out growers and the management.
The presented issues about agriculture insurance for the sugarcane
crop, and this would come in various insurance covers from fire, theft and loss
due to climatic hazards.
“Stanbic Bank wants a farmer from Masindi to be trained in insurance in order to handle farmers in the district” a Stanbic Bank official said.
The insurance covers will start after a policy that suits farmers has been put in place regarding the average farmers acreage and most common challenges, risks to their productivity and production of sugarcane.

Kinyara Nursery School holds its Visitation Day 2023
Crafts made by three year old children, Taylor made
informatics elaborated by teachers and a clean taking compound and class rooms
welcome you to Kinyara Nursery school in Masindi.
“From the artworks, crafts, teaching aids, paintings and drawings, it takes both the pupils and teachers effort,” Tubasiima Mariam a teacher said.

The teachers led by the headmistress were alert and waiting,
just the children were on the 2023 visitation day.

Primary School (PS) was declared the overall champion with 21 points, followed
by Kinyara Sugar Works PS with 18 points, and Kitonozi PS with 15 points. In
front of a crowd of around 300 people, including residents of nearby villages,
sugarcane growers, Kinyara Sugar Limited employees, and Bunyoro sub-region
football fans. Kasongoire
PS, Isagara PS, Murro PS, Ikoba Girls, Bulyango PS, Ikoba Boys, Kinyara SW PS,
Kabango PS, Kitonozi PS, and Bulyango Public were among the schools
represented.

Kinyara Sugar Limited celebrated national independence day alongside the Masindi district local government.
Thev belated celebrations were held at Kikingura
Primary School is located in the village of Kikingura, Bulima subcounty,
Masindi district.
Cirus Opigo, Masindi district principal human resources
officer, praised Kinyara Sugar Limited's contributions to the district and
urged residents to support Kinyara in all of its development efforts.
Aldon Walukamba, the Communications Manager, asked the
teachers and students at Kikingura Primary School to oppose sugarcane poaching,
burning, and eating in order for Kinyara Sugar Limited to fulfill its aims.

Kinyara's staff football squad
defeated Big League side Booma FC 2-1 in a friendly match.
Staff, out-grower farmers, members
from the district local government, and Kinyara Sugar Limited management
attended the football match at Kinyara Training Center grounds.

Management team defeats MASGAL Management in Football
The management team played a
curtain raiser game against Masindi Sugarcane Growers Association Limited
(MASGAL) on an odd day.
Kinyara Sugar Limited's team,
captained by Aldon Walukamba Communications Manager, scored the first goal in
the 11th minute.
Veteran sportsman and striker
Geoffrey Angudri rocked the rival goal net with a powerful header in the 13th
minute of the second round to give the Kinyara Management side a two goal
cussion and lead.
MASGAL TEAM won the match
with a score of 2 to 0.
MASGAL Chairman Robert
Atugonza stated that it was a good collaboration that should continue in the
future.

Kinyara Hash team participates in Kabalega run
The Hash team had a great
time representing Kinyara Sugar Limited at the Kabalega Independence Run in
Hoima.
The team of 25 athletes
braved the morning on the day to represent Kinyara Sugar Limited led by Grand
Master Hasher Fred Ogwok.
The event's theme was
"Celebrate a hero's legacy to educate tomorrow's leaders."
It drew around 2,000 runners
from across Uganda, and the earnings would go toward helping five schools fund
school fees for vulnerable students and pupils.
Sir Winyi Secondary School,
Duhaga Secondary School, Kabalega Secondary School, St. Edwards Bukuumi
Secondary School, and Buyanja Secondary School are among the secondary schools
in the area.
They will provide textbooks
and other educational materials.
