In the course of this month August, some activities in sports, visits, sponsorship, and tours took place within and outside Kinyara Sugar Limited (KSL).
Kinyara Sugar Limited Installs a New Time and Attendance Face Scan System
Kinyara Sugar Limited (KSL)
has deployed a new Time and Attendance face scanning system.
According to a cross-section
of KSL workers interviewed at the facility, “it is a very accurate and
trustworthy,” the bio-metric identification system (Face, Iris) is safe secure, and
is accessed as a Cloud service.

“I am pleased that our new Time and Attendance (TA) system, through 'Face Scan' is operational, it started on August 1, 2023 with the 6.00 am shift,” Moses Kabira Human Resources Manager Kinyara Sugar Limited.
Employees have to pass through the areas where these
Attendance Machines have been installed to ensure that their attendance is
recorded.
Sir Kosia Kasibayo
visits Kinyara Sugar Limited
Sir Kosia Kasibayo, the Masindi district Chief Magistrate,
paid a courtesy call to Kinyara Sugar Limited's General Manager, Ravi
Ramalingam, in August 2023. The General Manager was accompanied by Aldon
Walukamba, the Corporate Communications Manager, and Alfred Odongo, Kinyara
Sugar Limited's Legal Officer.

Upon receiving information on Kinyara Sugar Limited and its operations, the Chief Magistrate inspected what Kinyara Sugar Limited performs at the factory on a guided tour.
During the factory tour, we were joined by the Factory
Manager of Kinyara Sugar Limited Ramanujam Subburayalu.
Kitara Football Club delivers Big League trophy to sponsors Kinyara Sugar Limited
A 2022–23 Big League trophy has been presented by Kitara
Football Club to Kinyara Sugar Limited.
On August 17, 2023, Kitara FC CEO Joshua Atugonza took the
trophy to Kinyara Sugar Limited, the club's sponsors, and gave it to Ravi
Ramalingam, the general manager of the company.

In the Big League for 2022–2023, Kitara FC was sponsored by Kinyara Sugar Limited with UGX 50 million.
While accepting the trophy in his office at Kinyara Sugar Limited, Ravi Ramalingam said,
"We will continue to support sports development in Bunyoro sub region."
In total, Kitara FC accumulated 61 points. Paul Mucureezi
converted a penalty kick in the 36th minute to give Kitara FC the lone goal and
the victory.
Sugar
Manufacturers Petition Parliament
The
government of Uganda received complaints from sugar producers about poaching and new
mills.
The
Uganda Sugar Manufacturers Association (USMA) voiced objection to the
construction of additional mills and cane poaching in a petition sent to Rt. Hon. Anita
Annet, Speaker of Parliament, on August 24, 2023.

The
Parliamentary Committee on Trade, which was presided over by Deputy Chairperson
Hon. Catherine Lamwaka, was given the case by the Rt. Hon. Speaker.
Mwine
Jim Kabeho, the Chairman of the USMA, presented the appeal to Parliament on
behalf of Kinyara Sugar Limited together with Aldon Walukamba, the corporate
communications manager, and Sekhar Veedhi, the marketing manager.
Kinyara Golf
fraternity gets 'Moses Eriku Enzama' as new Golf Captain
Moses Eriku Enzama is the new Kinyara Golf team captain.
Enzama was unanimously elected after Geoffrey Angudri
voluntarily disclosed that he was incapacitated and unfit to guide Kinyara
golfers after 12 years of dedicated service.
"I am no longer fit to be a golf captain at Kinyara Sugar Limited, given that I no longer regularly train with the team and also fail to monitor golfing activities," Angudri said.
The golf captain's change of leadership was witnessed by
Kinyara Senior Management Club Chairman Sreekkanth Sarangarajan in the company
of Corporate Communications Manager Aldon Walukamba.

Moses Eriku Enzama, an astutely decorated golfer with accolades, promised to support the golfers in his leadership as a link between them and the Kinyara Senior Management Club and Kinyara Sugar Limited.
In the same vein, three members acquired new positions on
the senior management club committee.
The committee appointed Eng. Kissarach Kennedy as its
barman, Moses Eriku Enzama as a committee member, and John Bosco Edema as a
member without a portfolio.

and MSGAL leadership hold talkshow
In August 2023, the leadership of MSGAL and Kinyara Sugar
Limited hosted a radio talk show.
Clarification questions around sugarcane prices, farmer
welfare, and interactions with Kinyara Sugar Limited dominated the radio chat
show.

Kinyara Sugar Limited
participates in 2023 Cancer run
Twenty athletes from Kinyara Sugar Limited participated in
the 2023 Rotary Cancer Run, under the direction of human resources manager
Moses Basoga Kabira.
“We are using this cancer run as a stepping stone to have all Kinyara Sugar Limited staff embrace physical fitness and love sports activities while fighting non communicable diseases,” Kabira said

Senior Golfer ‘Oketi
Andrew’ seals August 2023 Kinyara Golf Mug

At the Kinyara Golf course,
Andrew Oketi defeated 13 other competitors to win the monthly "Mug"
for August 2023.
Toko Moses and Mukuru Collins
played 75 net, while Oketi played 73 net.
Toko, who made some
exceptional drives and strokes while playing golf, edged Mukuru in a
count-back.
After his second last tee off swing of the
day on hole number 17, Ayiko Nelson won the prize for the farthest drive.

friendly football match ends in a five-goal thriller In a friendly game in August 2023, Kitara Football Club
destroyed Kinyara Sugar Football Team by a score of five to zero. Hundreds of community residents, employees from Kinyara
Sugar Limited, and football enthusiasts came to watch the game at the Kinyara
football grounds. Against the football squad from Kinyara Sugar, Paul
Mucureezi and Yiga Frank each scored a hat trick, while Kabon Living added a
fifth. Before giving up a goal, Kinyara's football squad missed
three clear chances.
After the game, Kinyara sugar hampers were given to the players,
Kitara FC administration, and match officials.
